Meetings

Club Aims and Objectives.

Like all Probus Clubs we are non-political, non-sectarian and we do not raise funds. The purpose of the Club is to provide regular meetings and activities for fellowship, friendship, and the development of social, cultural and intellectual interests among members.

Membership.

Membership is for retired or semi-retired men and women to meet, share activities and interests together and enjoy good company.

Meeting Format.

Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month (except January) at 9.30am for 10am at Moby's Conference Centre, Boomerang Beach. At each meeting there is a short Business Session followed by a 10 Minute Speaker. After a sociable Morning Tea, the Guest Speaker is introduced to give a talk followed by a question and answer session. Guests are very welcome, and may join after attending two meetings.

Activities.

Between meetings, an outing is arranged by the Activities Officer — it may be a champagne breakfast, a picnic, visits of interest in the local area, or maybe a scenic tour. Members are kept informed of these events at the regular meetings and in the monthly Newsletter.

Membership Fee.

There is an Annual Membership Fee of $25.

For new members there is a $10 joining fee that provides for a Probus Name Badge.

The Committee.

The Committee is elected annually with the President serving one year.

Member Involvement

All members are encouraged to take an active part in their Club and in this way the Club reflects the interests and diversity of its members. While the rules of Probus may be the same, it is the contributions and suggestions of members that help to make each Probus Club special in its own way.

Meeting Protocol.

1. Please wear your name badge to Club meetings and activities.
2. Please apologise to our Attendance Officer if unable to attend a meeting.
3. Please turn off your mobile phone at the meeting.
4. Please talk to a Committee Member if you have a suggestion.
